Doug Seaton – Co-Founder & Technical Director
Doug Seaton’s suspension expertise is woven into the DNA of Griptech. Starting his career as a mechanic, Doug quickly became a suspension specialist with a leading Australian Suspension Specialist, where he led engineering and product development. He also traveled the world training international dealers, ensuring the highest product and support standards.
Determined to push suspension engineering even further, Doug launched a business of his own and developed Seaton Suspension, a performance sway bar range that gained a reputation for precision, strength, and reliability. Over 12 years, Seaton Suspension built a strong product line, and in December 2023, Doug partnered with Chris Milne to evolve that foundation into Griptech Industries—a brand built on exceptional, 100% Australian-made suspension products.
Chris Milne – Co-Founder & Managing Director
A performance industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, Chris Milne’s passion for suspension engineering, motorsport, and performance tuning started as Workshop Manager for a Subaru and Mitsubishi specialists. Chris already had already completed his dual trade in electrical and mechanical engineering which fit well with his interested in Motorsport and Performance Tuning. He gained hands-on expertise in vehicle dynamics and OE ECU re-calibration before moving into the business and marketing side of the industry.
Chris joined a global leader in boost control technology in 2013, where he expanded international markets, moved to and founded a UK subsidiary, spreading the Australian Manufacturing word and led multiple succesful SEMA New Product Award Campaigns upon his return to Australia where he served as the Global head of Sales, Product and Marketing for several years. His extensive experience in product strategy, branding, business development and global expansion ensures Griptech isn’t just making high-performance suspension products—we’re setting new standards for Australian manufacturing and innovation.
Nikorn – The Sway Bar Ninja
Few people in the world understand sway bars like Nikorn Chanthaphavong. Since the early 2000s, Nikorn has been handcrafting sway bars, developing a level of skill and expertise that made him an irreplaceable part of suspension manufacturing.
During Nikorn's time with the same Australian Leader Doug worked for, Nikorn not only fine tuned his craft but was also tasked with training others globally before returning home to Australia. The Seaton Suspension Sway Bar Range was born when Nikon and Doug spoke and agreed. The best sway bars are Australian made and Nikorn has been a crucial part of the Seaton and Griptech journey from day one.

Unlike our competitors, who have long since sent production over seas, every Griptech sway bar is designed, engineered, and manufactured right here in Australia.
We use high-quality 5160 spring steel that is hot forged to shape and shot-peened for durability, and finished with a multi-stage powder coat to ensure long-lasting performance in any motorsport, off-road, and street applications. By keeping our manufacturing in-house, we control every aspect of quality, ensuring that our products meet our exacting standards.
