FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A caravan sway bar reduces trailer sway and body roll while towing. It works by resisting the weight shift from one side of your van to the other, making your setup more stable and predictable on the road — especially against cross winds, head winds and lane changes at highway speeds. Griptech’s Tow-It Series Sway Bars are precision-engineered for serious towing safety.
Griptech Industries design, engineer and manufacture application specific kits so you can be sure this is a caravan specific kit to suit the van listed and is specified based on our experience and our customers feedback. This is not one size fits all. If you caravan, camper or trailer is not listed, feel free to contact us, we may still be able to help or even better, already working on a solution.
Yes, but not significantly and not by as much as you might be thinking, and we believe the compromise is worth the added safety while on the road. Tow-It Series Sway Bars are tuned for Sway resistance, not stiffness. Independant suspension is without doubt the best way to ensure stability on rough terrain, however if you spend allot of time on highways before arriving at the dirt road, a sway bar kit will get you there with more comfort, safety and confidence. If you are researching how to stop trailer sway, caravan wobble or lean you will know what we mean.
Yes, if you like — a sway bar and a weight distribution hitch serve different roles. Use both together for the most stable towing setup if your tow vehicle and caravan or trailer allow and require it.
- Sway bar = reduces sway and roll
- Weight Distribution Hitch = distributes weight more evenly across axles

We have made these kits as easy as we can, however we've designed them to handle the required loads and forces first and foremost and this means bolt into and sometime through major braces and cross-beams.
Your sway bar is covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing or material defects and we back this with our Fair Go Policy, meaning we’ll always try to help even outside warranty conditions. There is a little fine print such related to commercial use and incorrect fitment, but no surprises. We are and always will be here to help so get in touch if you ever have any concerns.
We try to have as many popular kits on the shelf as we can, however ultimately if it is not we will manufacturer your kit to order. Because we make these in house we can produce most kits and ship them within 3 weeks. If you are on a tight schedule, don't be afraid to reach out ans ask!
